Google

Wow...have had a comically bad user experience with Google Ad Sense tonight.

As I was recently laid off, I'm looking into putting some adsense ads onto this page and maybe some of my other ones. When looking up my account, I saw that at some point, for unknown reasons, I was disapproved.

When navigating through the system, I found a place that said if I was disapproved, I can log into my adsense account and resubmit it:

******
If your application wasn't approved, you're welcome to resubmit it for review. Before doing so, please read the application status message you received for more details on why your application was disapproved.

You may make any necessary updates to your application and resubmit by logging in to our home page using the email address and password you provided with your application. Once you've resolved all issues with your application, click 'Resubmit'.

So I went back to the login page, and when I logged in, with my Google account I got this message:

"An AdSense account does not exist for this login, as it is associated with an unapproved application. For more information about your application, please review the message we sent to the email address you provided with your application. "

So I went and searched (again) for this message...I don't have it,.

At this point, I get messages asking about my experience, I select the option that says "No" for satisfied with my visit, and am brought to another page where I'm asked more detailed questions, and I submit a short description of my experience.

...a couple minutes go by...

I go back to the page, to see what happened (if you know me you know I wasn't going to sit and wait for it to go through) and apparently there'd been a "500 Internal Server Error" that occurred.

There was a message on that page too though! They are very smart and ask that I send an email to a particular address, along with the time of the error etc.

So I resubmitted the form, so I could give them a very exact time that the error occurred (8:44pm PST) and typed up some details about the transaction that led to getting the error.

Think that it's done...?

Nope! After I sent that message, I went to go do other things, and when I got back to my email turns out that email address they provided is nooooooo good:

******
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

services-admin@google.com

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 553 553 5.5.3 <services-admin@google.com>... Invalid (state 14).

So I guess that I'm just not meant to let them know that I couldn't get my adsense working and that I'm really interested in resubmitting. I used a different email to re-sign up instead, which is only a bummer because I'd like to keep my google apps all using my google login.

Oh well...Hopefully they'll work it out. I've got my fingers crossed that Blogger is even going to work to post this entry honestly...if it doesn't I think I'll just go to bed or something.

Laid off

My last post was right on about time passing...yesterday the 2 year chapter of my life working at Daptiv ended. I was laid off at about 9:30am (well, 9:38, I was a little late) along with a large handful of my co-workers.

It was an emotional and pretty draining day, mostly because I will miss people I've become close too and with all these pregnancy I definitely did cry, probably for about an hour it would start up as someone walked up to my desk my eye's would start leaking, it was almost funny.

I have gotten so much experience and insight into what goes into running a smaller startup-ish VC funded company. I did time working with Professional Services, Marketing, did some filing for Finance, worked my way through Technical Support and then my time ended while I was the Visual Designer on the Product Development team.

Honestly I am looking forward to this next chapter that started today, I'm getting to know a lot of new women through Arbonne and this morning spent time at a Champions Workshop focused on personal development to reach goals of all levels. I'm excited and finding ways to keep making enough money to stay out of an office and to be able to spend more time with my girls...Kenzie and Hazel who is due in just over 4 weeks.

I feel tired today, forgot to take my iron today so I took that and will be taking a nap soon...so I should wake up bright and refreshed.

Other ongoing projects are getting some plastic bins in here to 'pack/organize' stuff that isn't actively in use so that when we ARE able to move into the house we can do so quickly and efficiently as well as not tripping quite so often.

So yeah, life is good, and now I can say I've lived through the experience of being laid off, I always like to have more experiences in life to reflect on!

Time is passing...

I just took a look at this page and realized I have not updated it with a pregnancy picture in a really long time! I just put some up in facebook, but I'd like to share it here too, my due date is a month and 1-5 days away depending on if you trust ultrasound (4/1) or forecasting by date (4/4). I'm also having a baby shower this weekend that I am really excited about, lots of very strong inspiring women coming together to have some fun (thanks Gail!).

I'm excited and feeling good! Still planning on doing a home birth and walking up and down Alki when I need to 'walk it out' to survive the early stages of labor. It is going to be wonderful...once it happens I'll miss those little kicks though!! Lol...I know that isn't entirely true, I thought I would with Kenzie, but once I met her the kicks were nothing compared to gazing at her happy face and holding her in my arms.

See you soon Hazel!!

Valentines Day

What a great weekend!! I got to spend all day Saturday and Sunday with my 3.5yo and together we went to 3 well attended events...whew! First we had a great meetup with 4 moms all together which was a blast...lots of artwork made at the storytime Barnes and Noble event. Then a great Valentines Day Tea Party with lots of 'big girls', Kenzie got lots of experience hanging out with the big girls (4-6) in good and bad ways...she was one of the smallest but she did a pretty good job standing up for herself when she had to! Only one quick cry when she says one of them pushed her...I heard another girl frustrated that she expected them all to follow her though which I thought was pretty impressive handling of a couple kindergarteners.

Third event was today, we went to a GREAT birthday party for a boy in her class at school and I loved meeting so many parents and watching all the kids just have a blast...makes me want to plan some more kid parties, maybe she needs an official three and a half year old party?

Anyway, I'm happy now too because my husband just got home from a very productive trip with the company he works with and we're glad it went well AND that he is back home of course.

Don't even know what tomorrow will bring but I'm happy that there's not any work or school!! Maybe the Science Center? Zoo? Working? We will surely see...I really like the whole 3+ day weekend thing...

Crunchy Wake-up

A few mornings this week have been such a tease!

Both Monday and today, Wednesday, I've woken up to the "scrape....scrape....scrape" of neighbors scraping ice off of their windshields. Both days I eagerly got up to go look out the window, to see if there was snow...maybe I have to stay home with Kenzie!

But no, no snow. So I am going to get ready for work now, it will be a loong day as we have our child birth class tonight too which goes until about 9:30pm (ouch!) I wish it was earlier in the day...

Have a wonderful Valentines Weekend!! Kenzie and I will be spending time with my sister and friends as my super-husband has an important business trip. We'll miss him but I'm glad he's taking care of things!

Chapter 11

I'm so bummed!!!

I was finally getting a registry together and was looking forward to browsing through babystyle.com and saw a notice they are out of business!!

Totally a bummer because last time I was at Bellevue square I saw a stroller in there that I really really liked...anybody know of any similar store that has 'nice' items to sell for babies and moms? Babys R Us is lacking in the 'quality' IMHO.

Bummer...please let me know if you know of any good resources like them that are good for registries.

I'm not having a boy!!

Stereotypes crack me up...the latest one that has been chasing me around is the way my stomach sticks out determining if you are having a boy or a girl...higher for boy, lower for girl. I've had 2 people so far who VERY confidently guessed that I was indeed having a boy!

Other than that, it is the usual "You are so HUGE!" "You are ready to pop!" type comments from strangers and people I know, who, even if they've been told numerous times, are 'shocked' to hear I have about 2 more months to go. I am thinking that I will start acting shocked just for entertainment....saying things like, "Are you serious? No way... Maybe that was why it seemed like I couldn't find a shirt that fit this morning!!

Life is good otherwise, work has been busy (in a good way...but it is still exhausting), and I'm keeping busy the rest of the time with friends and other groups I'm involved in. I have been using Arbonne recently for my skin and make up and love it...plan to try the protein powder for shakes next (soon as I'm out of the giant costco bag of protein powder I'm using).

I also found a book with um, 'positions', to use when you are pregnant, which is appreciated! Things do get a big awkward sometimes, not too bad though...lol.
